What Are You Waiting For? NESCBWI 2012 Conference

If you were in attendance at last weekend’s NESCBWI 2011 Conference in Fitchburg, MA., I want to hear from you!

  • Tell me what you loved.
  • Tell me what you didn’t love.
  • Did you step our of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to someone new?

The NESCBWI 2012 Conference - Keeping it Real: reality and world building in nonfiction, fiction, and illustration is all set for April 20-21, 2012 and will take place at the Sheraton Hotel of Springfield, MA, so mark your calendars.

Tell me what you would like to see at next year’s conference.

Now think about this.
Do you have what it takes to be a workshop presenter? Start putting your proposal together. The call for proposals will go out sometime mid to late June. Be ready to submit, because we want you!

  1. Hi Joyce! This was my first conference and I know it will not be my last. I loved every minute of it! I was certainly moved beyond my comfort zone (ordinarily shy) and was delighted by the very open and friendly authors who made themselves available for questions and advice. The keynotes were excellent. I thought it was well organized, I had no problems finding my workshops. I learned so much from the presenters...from how to create my writing space to submitting my ms. My ms critique was walking on air incredible...she wants to read the rest of my ms! I'm adding to my list of goals to one day be a workshop presenter in order to give back to the NESCBWI! I can't wait til next year.
Thanks for all of the hard work--it showed!!

  4. Joyce--The conference was AWESOME. And it was great to meet you! My favorite moment was when you dragged Chris over and we got to pitch for him--that was super cool and fun--so thanks!!

Everything was very well organized, and there was so much great stuff to do--almost too much. I would have loved some more down time to get together with friends and hang out--like at the ball. I would love to see a few breaks worked into the schedule. (We missed some great stuff just trying to catch dinner)

I would happy to help out next year--not so much by presenting, but whatever else you need. Please let me know. (Timing sessions or behind the scenes stuff, or organizing something before hand). Thanks for the awesome conference. I love that my feedback is really that there was too much awesome stuff to go to!!
