ReplyDeleteHi Joyce! Thanks for dropping by my blog...
ReplyDeleteThe paper fish thing is definitely an April Fool's thing - it's not so much about practical jokes as about sneaking up on people you know and sticking the fish on their back and allowing them to walk around with it all day (so the fact that it's a Sunday this year is a bit of bummer - it's more fun at school!). That said, French Easter chocolate, in addition to all the bunnies and chicks and eggs, also always included chocolate fish. I'm not religious in any way, and have never been Catholic, but I'm guessing it's something to do with Lent (giving up meat?) or the Catholic tradition of eating fish on Fridays. When I first moved to France (an eternity ago, back in 1992!), I was fascinated by all the chocolate fish everywhere...!
Thanks!
DeleteCongratulations!
